Contest Rules and Details
Contest starts Monday April 16, 2012 and entries may not be submitted before this date. Deadline for entries is 5 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2012.
You may mail your entry form to Rockport in Bloom Rockport City Hall, 622 E. Market Street, Rockport Texas, 78382 or drop it off at the Reception Desk at City Hall.
You can also view this same information over the internet at www.keeprockportbeautiful.com and download an entry form or enter on line.
- To be eligible for judging, your entry must be received by the deadline date and time.
- Contest locations must be within the actual city limits of Rockport. Churches and schools must be within Aransas County.
- Your entry must be visible from the street.
- You may enter a property in only one category.
- You may enter in more than one category - a different property for each category.
You may nominate yourself or others. If nominating others, please get their permission first.
Awards will recognize first and second place in all with 5 or more entries.
In categories with fewer than 5 entries, judges will determine the number awards.
Your entry will be judged on between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. by a three person team from the Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens. Since judges schedules may vary, you will not receive notification of a specific date and time for evaluating your property.
Judges will base their scoring on the following criteria:
- Overall quality of blooming plant materials 30 points
- Originality 10 points
- Maintenance 20 points
- Total possible 100 points
Winners will be notified and will receive their awards at the Rockport in Bloom Appreciation Reception; everyone who enters will receive an invitation to the reception. Rockport in Bloom Appreciation Reception will be held on Tuesday, May 22nd at 5:30 pm at the Rockport City Hall.
By submitting this application, you are giving the city permission to photograph your garden/landscaping.
